After analyzing the Twitter and Facebook Accounts that PR Daily has, I have created an audit report for both based on the total followers, likes, comments, and shares for the last two months of activity.
First, I’ll conduct an audit report for PR Daily’s twitter account.
On twitter, PR Daily’s twitter account can be found by searching their handle, @PRDaily, or by following this link https://twitter.com/PRDaily?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor.
This account has a total of 115.8K followers, which is a large following base. I think that PR Daily is trying to appeal to a younger age group because twitter is a platform that is mostly based around people between the ages of 18 and 24. This allows them to reach those who are possibly in college, which I believe is an attempt to help them with their careers (if they are going into PR or marketing) and also help to guide them as they graduate.
When looking at the last two months of activity for this account, I noticed that it has made 528 posts, consisting of a total of 1,536 likes, 103 comments, and 728 shares. Although the total amount of interaction seems like a considerable amount, this is actually only bringing in anywhere between 0 to 40 interactions (combining likes, comments, and shares) on each post. But, most posts land on the lower side (the 0 to 10 range). I have included the account’s top 10 posts, based on interaction, below:
- https://twitter.com/PRDaily/status/1211698858310266880

As you can see, the highest amount of interaction in these posts is a post with 19 likes, 1 comment, and 16 retweets. This is not very good compared to the amount of people who follow the account. On a platform like this, you should be getting a larger amount of interactions on each of your posts. I would say that with this large of a following, you should be receiving over 200 likes, not including comments and retweets. In other words, PR Daily’s twitter account is not effective because it doesn’t receive enough engagement.
Now, lets look at PR Daily’s Facebook account. You can find it on Facebook by searching @prdaily or following this link: https://www.facebook.com/prdaily/
This profile has 106,307 likes and 108,731 followers. I believe that it by using Facebook, PR Daily is appealing to people between the ages of 20 and 50 years old, because this social media site appeals to people of all ages. It’s also mostly targeting to those who are in the PR or marketing business.
After assessing PR Daily’s facebook page, I found that in the last two months, their posts have received a total of 157 likes, 7 comments, and 61 shares. Just like its twitter account, PR Daily’s facebook posts aren’t bringing in nearly enough likes, comments, and shares when comparing to its following base. For example, the average amount of likes on each post falls between 1 and 2 likes. This is not even close to enough likes for PR Daily to make an impact on their targeted audience.

Overall, both the Facebook and Twitter accounts for PR Daily are not receiving enough interaction to be effective. Although there are some things that they are doing right. For example, both accounts seem to post regularly. By regularly, I mean at least once a day. I believe that this is good to keep your brand in people’s minds all the time. Another thing that seems to be working for them is that they have a large amount of followers on both social media accounts, so they are obviously doing a good job at spreading the word about their platforms.
But, there are also many things that are not working for them, which is the reason that they aren’t doing well on both platforms. For example, they seem to post the same content multiple times. This is a problem because once people have seen something once, the odds of them interacting with it again become lower. Posting the same content more than once doesn’t give any new information to those following, which gives them less of a reason to share or retweet these posts. Another weakness of these social media accounts may be that they overlook what people may be saying about their brand. It’s very important to take people’s comments and opinions into consideration when running a social media account. If they are expressing negatives feelings when it comes to to PR Daily’s social media platforms, this can negatively affect the brand as a whole.
Overall, I have found that PR Daily’s social media accounts need to change some things in order to receive better interactions with their consumers.
